The tradition of the French, the Belgians, and the English to enjoy good food with family, friends, and acquaintances on a Sunday afternoon, has appealed to me for a long time. Take the Sunday Roast. Mother, but more often father does his or her best to put a big hunk of roast on the table. Is it cooked to perfection, and then it’s time to get the party started.
Is this possible in the Netherlands? I believe so. It’s a lot of work with a lot of washing up to boot. I’d like to suggest an alternative. Bring anybody you want on a Sunday afternoon from noon to around 6 o’clock to Las Palmas and enjoy that Lazy Sunday afternoon feeling with good food in a relaxed ambiance. You can come and go as you please. Do you feel like sharing a cheese board with some fine wines with your friends? Perfect. Do you crave for steak tartare with a fresh salad and chunky chips? Consider it done. Or do you want a royal plateau of fruits de mer or rather some small snacks? It’s your day in the sun, we’ll take care of that. Being free, being happy, and relaxing in an informal atmosphere, that’s what it’s all about.
Will we, from now on, drop by the Wilhelmina Pier on a Sunday, feel the wind in our hair, and visit Las Palmas? Are we going to start a great new tradition with Lazy Sunday Afternoons? I think we can all recharge our batteries with that.
You are all very welcome from 12.00 pm. We take reservations up until 6.00 pm.
